The tenth week once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many people into the NFL
This outcome may have opened opportunities for the Patriots to creep back into a top spot they formerly held, with a remaining games that gives them an edge over their 8-2 rivals
Over in the NFC the Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had ideal outcomes to set up a major confrontation next week, while our player of the week is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award
Analysis - Simply an Off Day for the Bills?
Was it just an emotional letdown from defeating Kansas City last week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Buffalo team to answer
The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against the Dolphins but were second best from the start as the Dolphins emerged as 30-13 victors in an surprising result - and display
MVP Josh Allen only got the squad's opening first down in the third period and initial scoring in the final quarter - admittedly Miami had 10 days to get ready but it was still a significant failure laid by one of the NFL's top offences
Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two scores but rusher De'Von Achane was the devastating difference, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns
Containing the league's best rushing attack was crucial too, with Cook and teammates recording just 86 yards, their fewest of the year and just over half their 161.5-yard season average
Additionally there were the three critical ball losses, and the pair from Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the end zone resulting in a nine minute drive produced nothing, and his final quarter dropped ball that Miami turned into seven points just later
It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a hole on defense and Allen trying to overcompensate to dig his team out of it - not the composed, controlled, balanced Bills we've seen this year
The Dolphins have served up a bit of everything this season so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the beginning of something, but for Buffalo they'll need an instant response in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay next week as the New England are quietly moving into a nice lead at the summit of the AFC East
In Focus - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed
Speaking of the New England, they're among three eight and two teams in the NFL, all American Football Conference teams, but are they the top team?
One could pick holes in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts really for dominating the weaker opponents, with only five of their combined twenty-four wins coming against opponents with a winning record - and one example was the Indianapolis defeating the Denver
The Broncos beat the reigning champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the final quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots adding Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their primtime success in Orchard Park seems like a declaration
Their two defeats occurred in recently appointed coach Vrabel's first three contests, with seven straight victories, just like the Broncos, since then - but defeating Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a week off to get ready was significant
Maye's MVP claims won't go away, and he definitely deserves credit for courage after taking some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but hanging in there to guide his side to success
The defensive unit is solid and rookie rusher Henderson exploded on game day with 147 rushing yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth runner to break 22 miles per hour this season on his initial touchdown
While you can argue who 'the best' is technically, the Patriots should be favorites to finish with the top record due to their remaining opponents - which includes just a single matchup against a successful opponent, albeit a huge one against the Bills
Traveling to the Ravens is also tough, but the Broncos have it even tougher in the AFC West division with the Chiefs to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also compete for first place but encounter the same problem) and additionally the Packers on the fixture list
The Indianapolis also play the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two matchups with the 5-4 Jacksonville to face. There is a long way to travel but the door is open for a shock top seed in the AFC
Coming Up - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Week 11 Clash
Two teams with strong arguments to be superior to all of the three different 8-2 sides are NFC West opponents the Seahawks and Rams, who each put up forty points to go to seven and two before next week's Hollywood blockbuster game between the two in Los Angeles
They've both won four in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Darnold performing at an elite level (although Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses giving up under 20 points a contest
Both could realistically be undefeated as too - especially the Los Angeles as their two defeats came in extra time against the 49ers and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a game-winning kick with the last kick deflected and run back by the Eagles for a touchdown
The Seahawks were also defeated to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in the opening week, before falling to the last kick of the game against the Buccaneers - so they are truly among the best sides in the league
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the season so far
Player of the Week - Taylor
Jonathan Taylor might be on for a historic year after his incredible display in Berlin - running for 244 rushing yards, registering three touchdowns and adding another 42 {receiving yards
