Ariana Grande visited Singapore for the international debut of Wicked: For Good

Devoted fans of Ariana Grande are calling for that a man who leaped a fence and touched the performer during yesterday's Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or removed from Singapore.

A circulating video depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the actors made its way down a event pathway surrounded by fans.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly guided the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being escorted out of the premiere by guards.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "let go after being taken in", though court documents indicated that he was set to appear on the next day. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.

History of Disruptions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram feed includes recordings of him disrupting other star-studded functions, including breaching the performance area at the artist's Sydney concert in recently and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers event in the same location last December.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," stated an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user wrote.

Fans Voice Worry Over Grande's Well-being

Numerous fans criticized Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed experiencing PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming hundreds.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said a further response on Instagram.

Some supporters also criticised security officers at the gathering for not being vigilant enough; while others requested digital services to remove Mr Wen's videos.

Reaction and Event Details

In clips shared widely, Grande looked surprised when she was grabbed by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was removed by security.

Grande has remained silent on the incident, and the premiere activities continued without further issues.

Hundreds of Singapore fans had lined up to see the performers of Wicked

Hundreds of attendees had congregated in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore venue, including some who had queued for as long as eight hours before it commenced.

The film, to be released on the 21st of November, is the follow-up of a two-film interpretation of the popular theatrical musical Wicked, which revolves around the unexpected bond between two distinct witches.

The show itself is a derivative of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a rosé sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the Elphaba, wore a elegant ensemble decorated with roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the top-earning motion picture of the previous year in the UK, and received ten Academy Award nods, winning two for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
