Los Angeles Erupts in Celebration as Dodgers Claim Second World Series Championship
The City of Angels witnessed widespread celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a nail-biting seven-match World Series title. Supporters worldwide joined Angelenos in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a franchise has secured back-to-back championships.
Victory Parade Attracts Massive Turnout
Local celebrations included a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings across the city.
Online footage depict thousands of Angelenos packing city center avenues, many displaying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The team was seen riding high on a double-decker bus through the masses, raising the Commissioner’s trophy high.
“I’m already thinking about the next championship we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an translator.
The parade route ended at Dodger Stadium, where the players walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ spinning music and Ice Cube driving a Pacific blue classic car around the stadium’s outfield.

Celebrations started well before the parade, with Dodgers fans setting off fireworks in the roads of Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, spoke directly about the win.
“We refuse to lose,” he said. “I adore this team. This city means everything to me.”
Mixed Reactions and City Unity
In contrast, Mark Walter was met with a cooler welcome at the celebration. Video footage from the gathering seem to depict him taking the stage to a combination of cheers and jeers, with jeers interrupting his speech.
The World Series served as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An estimated 225,000 people showed up to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, fans this year demonstrated equal or greater support.
“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
