The Perfect Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution According to the Zodiac Sign
The comeback of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited immense excitement within the community. Starting with the gradual reveal of fresh additions before the game's launch, to players forming firm views on the full lineup of Mega Evolutions, there's plenty for enthusiasts to look forward to.
With many of the Super Forms boasting unique appearances that highlight their traits, one thought came to mind: How can link this with astrology? The following is based on a blend of intuition, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.
Aries – Super Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndoom was almost chosen for Aries, as both are the Super Form and astrological sign that evoke the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom appears as always angry, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, renowned for being fun, light-hearted, and impulsive. This makes the Ram much more akin to Mega Camerupt, which only spews lava when provoked. Remain on the friendly side of both and benefit from a powerful partner; should you offend them, prepare to face the consequences.
Taurus – Super Heracross
Similar to a loyal Taurus, the reliable Heracross species, both in its standard and Super Form, has assisted numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, both the creature and a Taurus are still battle-oriented, and – be it their trainer or a firm belief – will defend their position unwaveringly. The thing about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Taurus friends, however, is its unabashed love of snacks. Several previous Pokédex entries note their craving for tasty tree sap and how it employs its appendage to collect it all, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.
The Twins – Mega Medicham
Observe this absolute queen. You cannot convince me this creature is not the soul of every party, offering an endless fountain of chatter to those who wants to hear. Much like an captivating, sociable Twins, it's very easy to imagine Mega Medicham mesmerizing an entire open area with their tales. This Pokémon's official description also states its capacity to predict an enemy’s future actions, which seems quite similar to a people-smart Twins.
Cancer – Mega Manectric
The Crab is commonly considered as the most emotional member of the astrological wheel, a passionate symbol known for often getting wrapped up in their feelings. Per the official info, Super Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “tremendous amount of electricity, but it's excessive for Manectric to fully manage,” which sounds a lot like a classic Crab crash-out. It is also known for its ability to make a thundercloud over its own self – and if there’s one thing a Crab is likely to do, it’s spoil their own parade.
Leo – Mega Starmie
Oh, did you assume I was going to pick the lion Pokémon for the lion of the stars? Besides the reality that it would be much too on the nose, Leo is obviously Mega Starmie, the star whose gams just went viral for being extremely fabulous (or horrifying, based on your preference). Fans couldn’t look away from the purple starfish, and that’s precisely the identical energy a Lion brings to the scene. This Pokémon is also rumored to be transmitting signals from its red core out into space, and it’s just like a Lion to be staging a performance, albeit for aliens.
The Maiden – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is perfectly represented in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual digestive issues. The zodiac symbol famous for being charmingly critical is clearly reflected throughout this creature's entire lineage, from a perpetually surprised face like a Maiden when you inform them you lack a 401(k), to its upside-down visage that’s just like the symbol a Maiden sends to the chatroom when all says they want to “go with the flow” instead of creating a plan.
The Scales – Mega Audino
Look at this gentle, empathetic creature, who uses the feelers on its auditory organs to tell how others are emotionally by their pulse. Consistently compassionate – sometimes to a detriment – and striving to maintain the harmony, there are numerous Scales who would likely benefit from Mega Audino’s abilities. Though, to be frank, it would likely just make them worry even more about everyone else.
The Scorpion – Super Banette
This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a unexpectedly sad origin: Discarded as a toy, it became sentient through pure hatred and swore retribution on its previous caretaker. According to the official info, Mega Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That sounds exactly like several discussions I’ve had with my scary Scorpio friends. A Scorpio adores cosmic justice and retribution, making them the ideal match with Mega Banette.
Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha
Each Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly putting on a performance. Being a Archer myself, the number of times I’ve referred to myself some version of a “playful small entertainer” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Super Form, its Pokédex entry even notes how it “poses to show off its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius match I can imagine.
Capricorn – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Super Absol has the ability to foresee disasters ahead of time? That gives the exact same vibe as a Capricorn, who often always think they’re correct. The thing is, similar to a visionary Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the very initial Mega Evolution that players meet in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to get in on the beginning of the Mega trend.
Aquarius – Super Chandelure
Detached air sign Aquarius is possibly the non-fire placement that is closest to a flame symbol – its counterpart is Leo, and there are countless jokes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being unpredictable partners in crime. Mega Chandelure’s dual Spirit/Flame typing matches seamlessly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating presence is also extremely Aquarius. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Super Form's Pokédex entry says it “absorbs hatred and transforms it into power.” If that fails to exactly {encaps
