The President Invites Families of Attacked Guard Members to the Presidential Residence
President Trump revealed on Sunday that he has asked the relatives of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to attend the executive mansion.
He added that he conversed with her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on Wednesday in Washington DC.
Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, remains hospitalized in grave state.
Gatherings across the state have occurred in their honor.

The president stated he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the parents of both soldiers of the state Guard.
“I said: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a difficult moment, come to the White House. We’re going to recognize her,” Trump addressed journalists. “And likewise with him, no matter the outcome.”

Mourners assembled over the past few days at the high school in West Virginia to honor Beckstrom.
Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s national effort to support policing efforts in DC.

“She was the kind of student that educators desired. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that encouraged those around her,” Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, stated to the media. “She was kind, considerate and always eager to help others.”
Memorial arrangements for Beckstrom are in the process of planning.

Officials have accused a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with one count of murder and charges of violent assault while carrying a weapon.
The tragedy led the administration to halt asylum applications and halt granting visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.
Status of the Airman
The airman, a resident of the city, enlisted in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, per the Associated Press.
He is still undergoing care and is “battling to survive”, the state’s governor the governor stated on television.
